I was lucky enought to have some time with the girls over tea and cake this afternoon. I've been dying to visit a new cafe come vintage shop called The Birdcage on Corn Street in the centre. It's housed in an old bank (as most of the shops are in Corn Street), and is a lovely place. They do cakes and snacks but also have a licence so you could go there in the evening for a glass of wine too. It's full of old treasures like old bikes and typewriters and nestled in one corner is a little vintage clothing boutique. It's was nice to while away an hour or two with girlie chat and some lovely coffee cake!  Thankfully for the bank balance the only thing I fell for was a navy blue fur collar leather coat that wasn't for sale. Anyway, if you are local,  get down there......just take a big coat.......it's freezing!

Hoe lovely is this? Lots of old lampshades grouped together to make a feature

I wore my new green velvet jacket and matching shoes and bag....all second hand.  Looking at this though, the Green Lantern comes to mind!
