Fabulous Finds

This page is dedicated (in the immortal words of Maria) to a few of my favourite things that I have found in charity shops since 2010.  New "loves" will be added as and when!

This beautiful jacket is from Whistles orginally and I found it in a second hand shop in Wells, Somerset. I went shopping to Clarks village but couldn't believe it when I found this for £10.50!

Excuse the thumb!! I adore these boots. I found them in the Fishponds St Peters Hospice Shop and nearly cried when they were my size. I love cowboy boots and these are such a gorgeous colour and were around £5 !

This is Maggie 2 (you will meet Maggie 1 in a minute).  I love these "Margaret Thatcher" style handbags. Classic shape and they remind me of my Nan years ago.  A charity shop in Weston super Mare had two lovely bags similar to this but wanted around £20 each one!  In a vintage boutique maybe but there are still bargains to be found.  This one was £3.75 from Tenovus on Henleaze Rd.

Ahhhhh.  Maggie 1.  I shouldn't play favourites but I love her.  Even though I have well over 40 bags, I always seem to pick her for my going out bag.

I bought these last weekend at St Peters Hospice in the centre (next to Debenhams). I love the little diamonté bow tie. Its tiny but lovely.

Again, St Peters Hospice,  Fishponds at its best - £3.50

This was originally from TK Maxx for £46 and was in the same shop as above for £4.50. Its so heavy as its a wool mix but it has a lovely Russian Kosack feel to it.  I will probably pair it with a nice poloneck jumper and some riding boots for winter.

This photo doesn't do this justice. Its actually a dress but I wear it as a skirt and always feel like Carrie Bradshaw when I wear it.

This was on a £5 rail in a lovely vintage boutique in Cotham (I'm not naming it, the £5 rail is my secret!!!). They sell a lot of designer wear but this rail at the back of the shop is a real treasure.

One day.........I will fit into this!  I am carrying too much wine weight at the moment but soon my lovely.

I have wanted a satchel for so long but the real leather ones are so expensive. This little beauty came from a charity shop in Clevedon while  I was waiting for my mum. Its really rigid and you cant put much in it but it looks so expensive up close.

This bag was really unusual. It made me think of 1920's and Bugsy Malone.   I love the really long chain.  This one came from St Peters again on Henleaze Road.

My favourite colour of the moment, cobalt blue. This dress was from the Saturday market outside St Nicholas Market on Corn Street. I put my own ribbon and corsage on it.  There is a lovely vintage clothes stall there every week.  Again, I think it was only around £7/8 on the sale rail

I love this dress, it makes you feel like a Hollywood starlet. I got it from a Clevedon charity shop and I wore it to a meal after my graduation.  It was £8.

The photo doesn't do this dress justice. Its an empire line silk Topshop limited edition and I have worn it to death with my big grey leather boots and a statement necklace.

The one that fits!  Don't know what to say. I love it of course.....but you are limited as to where you can wear it. The side slits are massive and do not cover much!  This was from St Peters in Downend - £12.

My Wilma Deering dress (Buck Rogers for you young ones!). I got this while out shopping with a friend and her daughter on Gloucester Road. The colour is so striking, it makes you feel special the minute you put it on and it has a real swish-swish as you move around.   It was £20 which is a lot more than I  normally spend in a charity shop but I couldn't leave it behind. I always wonder where it came from and who loved it in the past.

My dancing shoes!  From Downend St Peters.  They are marked a size 4 but they fit my size 6 feet!  The lady at the till asked it they were for dancing - she really couldn't understand why else I would buy them!  (because I had a matching bag of course!).

Mmmmmmmmmmm. This little number came from Bath about 5 years ago so its the oldest of the pack.  I have only ever worn her once and could bearly get in her again but it is so pretty. The embroidery is so detailed (despite the slight Milkmaid style). It was £15 but again I couldn't leave it behind.  Colour really attracts me and up close this has every colour you could think of which makes it easy to accessorise although I cannot imagine wearing it much in the future....not sure I can get away with it much anymore but I love it and it always makes me smile when I see it in the wardrobe!
